Day 01 : Singapore - Bangkok (---)
Assemble at Changi International Airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to a nearby hotel for overnight.
Day 02 : Bangkok - Paro - Thimphu(LD)
Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Paro. In clear weather, Druk Air's flight to Bhutan provides a wonderful view of the Himalayan scenery. Upon arrival in Paro airport, our representative who will take you on an interesting drive of about 1 hour to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan, will meet you. Afternoon, visit Tashichho Dzong ( Fortress of Glorious Religion) initially built in 1641 and later rebuilt in the 1960's. It houses some of the Ministries, King's throne room and the central monk body. In early autumn there is a three- day religious festival held in the courtyard of the Dzong. Overnight in Thimphu – Kisa Hotel (3 star) or similar.
Day 03 : Thimphu - Wangduephodrang (BLD)
In the morning, visit the National Memorial Chorten built in the early 1970's, then to ab old temple of Changakha built in the 15th century A.D., where local people worship daily by walking around it and praying. We will also visit the Folk Heritage Museum ( closed on Sunday), a fascinating testimony of Bhutan's living traditions. Also, visit the Post office and the government owned Handicrafts Emporium, which offer a lot of handcrafted products, including the splendid thangkha paintings adn exquisitely woven textiles for which Bhutan is famous for. After lunch, we drive over the stunning Dochula Mountain pass marked by 108 stupas and many colourful prayer flags on our way to Wangduephodrang for overnight. Overnight in Wangduephodrang - Punatshang Resort or similar.
Day 04 : Wangduephodrang - Bumthang (BLD)
After an early breakfast, drive to Pelela or the Black Mountains that divides the western and central Bhutan and then to Trongsa. In the afternoon, we visit Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral home of the Royal family. Then we drive over the Yotongla pass to the breathtakingly beautiful Bumthang valleys, the cultural heartland of Bhutan. Distance = 210km/8 -9 hours drive. Alt. of Jakar – 2,650m. Overnight in Bumthang – Khaila Guesthouse
Day 05 : Bumthang (BLD)
Today visit some of the most ancient temples of Bhutan including Jambey, Kurjey, Tamshing and Padmasambhava which have interesting myths and legends about kings, Buddhist masters and serpents that make Bumthang a living museum of art and history. In the afternoon, visit the fortress of White bird (Jakar Dzong). Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 06 : Bumthang - Punakha (BLD)
After breakfast, drive to Chumi Valley and take a short walk to see Buli temple. Then drive to Trongsa for an early lunch. Afternoon, we drive to Punakha. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 07 : Punakha - Paro (BLD)
Punakha one of Bhutan's best agricultural regions, was Bhutan's capital until 1955, and even now is the winter home for the country's central monk body. Exquisitely beautiful paintings, fine carvings of wood and brass and stone are some of the Bhutanese architecture that one can explore. You will also visit Khamsum Yuele, Namgyal Chorten, built by the Royal family. After lunch, take an excursion to Wangduephodrang valley and visit the Dzong (Fortress) located on a ridge with a commanding view of the valleys below. There forth proceed for drive back to Paro. Overnight in Paro .
Day 08 : Paro - Taktshang Monastery - Paro (BLD)
After breakfast, is today's highlight excursion in Bhutan. Drive to a Taktshang excursion point to start hike to the Taktshang Monastery, meaning Tiger's Nest. It is precariously perched on the edge of a 1,200 meter cliff, this monastery creates an impressive sight and is unofficial symbol of Bhutan. It is about a two hour, totally up-hill hike from the parking lot to the monastery, though there is cafe located on the ridge across from the Taktsang (about 90 minutes into the walk) that provides a welcome opportunity to take a rest and purchase refreshments and snacks. Taktshang was established as a sacred place for meditation by Guru Rinpoche who visited the site on his second visit to Bhutan in 747 CE, though the first monastery was not constructed until 1694. In 1998 a tragic fire destroyed most of the original buildings, but these have since been painstakingly restored to their former glory. After lunch, hike the same path back. Drive back to the hotel. Overnight in Paro.
Day 09 : Paro - Bangkok -Singapore (B)
After breakfast, drive to the Paro International Airport to check in to Druk Air flight to Bangkok.
